A website built for the people who use it

A school website has two jobs. It has to help families choosing a school get a feel for it, and it has to help current parents, pupils and staff find what they need quickly, whether that is the term dates, the uniform list or a letter home. Many school websites struggle with both, because they have grown page by page over the years.

We design and build websites for schools, multi academy trusts, colleges and education providers. Each one is designed around the people who use it, with clear menus, plain language and pages that work on a phone. You can see our work for Nulogic above, and visit the live site.

Easy for your staff to update

A website is only as good as the last update. We set your website up so that the staff who keep it current can add news, update policies and change term dates without needing to call us. We show them how it works and stay available for help.

The information schools must publish

Schools in England must publish certain information online, from admissions arrangements and inspection reports to policies, curriculum details and how pupil premium funding is spent. The lists differ slightly for maintained schools and academies, and the Department for Education updates them from time to time.

We build every school website with a clear, easy-to-find place for each item, so you can see at a glance what is there and what needs updating. Our guide to what a school website must include sets out what to check.

Accessible to everyone

Your website should work for everyone in your community, including people who use a screen reader, need larger text or find complicated pages hard to follow. We build to the WCAG 2.2 AA standard: clear contrast, sensible headings, descriptive links and images, and pages that work with a keyboard. We also help you write an accessibility statement.

Websites for multi academy trusts

A trust needs a website that explains the trust to families, staff and partners, and school websites that feel part of the same family while keeping each school’s character. We design trust and school websites that share one structure and one brand, so staff across the trust find them easy to update and families recognise them straight away.

Refresh or rebuild

Not every school needs a brand new website. If your site works but looks dated or is hard to find your way around, a refresh can give it a new look and a clearer structure for less disruption. We will tell you honestly which makes more sense.

Found on Google

We set up the basics properly: clear page titles and descriptions, a sitemap, a Google Business Profile and the right details for search engines, so families who search for your school find the right page. We also make sure your website loads quickly on phones.

How it works

Five simple steps, from first call to finished work.

  1. Step 1: Get in touch

Email us or use the contact form. Tell us what you need and roughly when.

  2. Step 2: Get a quote

We talk it through, then send a clear, fixed quote before we start. No surprises later.

  3. Step 3: Confirm

You confirm the plan and the dates, and we agree consent and safeguarding arrangements with you.

  4. Step 4: We make it

We plan, shoot, design or build it, working around your timetable, and share drafts for your comments.

  5. Step 5: Delivered

You get the finished files, ready to use, with everything you need to post, print or publish.

Safeguarding and consent

A website is part of your safeguarding too.

Your website will carry photos of pupils, news and contact details, so we build it with safeguarding in mind. Staff can check every photo against your consent list before it goes live, and pupils’ full names never need to appear next to their pictures.

We keep the software up to date, keep personal data to what you need, and set up cookie consent properly, so nothing tracks a visitor without their permission.

Why Moments

Why schools choose us

  • We only work in education

Schools, multi academy trusts, colleges and education providers are all we do, so you never have to explain admissions, Ofsted or the school year to us.

  • Safeguarding comes first

Every one of us is DBS-checked, and we check your consent list before anyone is filmed or photographed.

  • One studio for everything

Film, photography, print, social and websites from the same in-house team, so your prospectus, website and open evening film look like they belong together.

  • A clear, fixed quote

You know the cost before we start, and it does not change because a shoot runs long. We reply to every enquiry within one working day.

FAQs

Questions schools ask us

What must schools publish on their website?
Maintained schools and academies in England must publish set information online, such as admissions arrangements, inspection reports, policies, curriculum information, SEND information and details of pupil premium and PE and sport premium spending. The Department for Education keeps the lists up to date. Our guide explains what to check, and we build websites with a clear place for each item.
Do schools have to have a website?
In practice, yes. Maintained schools in England are required to publish specific information on a website, and academies are expected to publish similar information through their funding agreements. A website is also where most families start when they choose a school.
How much does a school website cost to build?
It depends on how many pages you need, whether it is a single school or a trust with several schools, and what you need to connect, such as calendars or newsletters. We do not publish prices, but you get a clear, fixed quote before we start, with maintenance quoted separately so you know the ongoing cost.
Does a school website need an accessibility statement?
We recommend that every school publishes one. Schools have duties under the Equality Act 2010, and public sector accessibility regulations apply to schools in part, for example to forms people need to use. An accessibility statement explains what you have done and how someone can ask for help. We build to WCAG 2.2 AA and write the statement with you.
Who can create a website for a school?
Schools use a mix of specialist school website platforms, local web designers and agencies like us. Whoever you choose, look for someone who understands what schools must publish, builds to accessibility standards, makes the site easy for your staff to update, and will support you after launch.
