Brochures and a prospectus for Nulogic

Explaining alternative provision clearly

Alternative provision does vital work, but it can be hard to explain. Schools, local authorities, trusts and families all need to understand who your provision is for, how it works and how to make a referral, and each of them needs slightly different information. Your marketing has to be clear for all of them, and it has to show the young people you work with in a way that respects them.

We are a creative studio that works only in education, and alternative provision is part of that. We know the care it takes to film and photograph in these settings, and how to write about the work in a way that is honest and hopeful.

Our work for Nulogic

Nulogic supports young people who need something different from mainstream education, working alongside schools and families. For its 2026 academic year we designed a family of printed pieces, each covering one part of its work:

  • Brochures for Primary Provision, KS4 Vocational Pathways and Post-16 Provision.
  • An Alternative Education Prospectus that brings it all together.
  • Two-sided flyers for its School Inclusion Bases and Specialist Outreach services.

We also made a tour of Nulogic’s Bournville centre, a commercial for its Music Hub and a social media video, photographed its staff and young people during real sessions, and built its website. You can see the brochures above and the films and photos further down the page.

Brochures and prospectuses for every stage

Many alternative provision providers work across several stages, from primary to post-16, and offer different services, such as inclusion bases in schools or outreach. One brochure per stage or service, sharing one design, lets each reader find what is relevant to them quickly, while everything still clearly comes from you.

Films and photography, made with care

A film of your centre lets schools and families see where young people will spend their time before they visit. Photography of real sessions shows the relationships at the heart of your work. Both need careful planning: who can be shown, who cannot, and how to tell the story without identifying anyone who must stay private.

A website that makes referrals easy

Your website is often the first place a school, local authority or family looks. It should explain your provision in plain language, show your centres and your approach, and make it easy to get in touch or start a referral. We design websites that do that, built to be accessible to everyone.

Starting a new provision

If you are setting up a new alternative provision, you will need a website and a prospectus from day one, with photography and a consistent look that holds them together. We can make all of it, so everything matches from the start. Get in touch for a conversation and a clear, fixed quote before we start.

We talk it through, then send a clear, fixed quote before we start. No surprises later.

  3. Step 3: Confirm

You confirm the plan and the dates, and we agree consent and safeguarding arrangements with you.

  4. Step 4: We make it

We plan, shoot, design or build it, working around your timetable, and share drafts for your comments.

  5. Step 5: Delivered

You get the finished files, ready to use, with everything you need to post, print or publish.

Safeguarding and consent

Dignity and consent come before everything else.

Young people in alternative provision often have complex lives, and some cannot be identified for their own safety. We agree with you, before any filming or photography, who can be shown, who cannot, and how. Where a young person cannot appear, we tell the story through staff, spaces, hands at work and their own words without their face.

Our team are all DBS-checked, work alongside your staff at all times, and never pressure anyone to take part. You approve every image, film and page before it is used.

FAQs

Questions schools ask us

Can you film in a school?
Yes, with the right consent and safeguards, and the same applies in alternative provision. We agree beforehand who can be shown and how, work alongside your staff, keep anyone without consent out of shot, and our team are all DBS-checked.
Can schools post pictures of students on social media?
Only with the right consent, and in alternative provision extra care is needed, because some young people must not be identifiable at all. Check every image against your consent records, never use full names, and if in doubt, leave the photo out.
What should a school prospectus include?
For alternative provision, explain who the provision is for, how referrals and commissioning work, what a day looks like, how you support young people and measure progress, and how to get in touch. Real photos and plain language help schools, local authorities and families understand your work quickly.
Who can create a website for a school?
Specialist school website platforms, local web designers and agencies like us all build education websites. For alternative provision, look for someone who understands safeguarding, writes clearly for schools, local authorities and families, and makes referrals easy.
