Films that show what your school is really like

Families decide very quickly whether a school feels right for their child, and most of them see a film before they ever walk through your gates. A good school film does what a brochure cannot: it lets people hear your pupils, see your teachers at work and get a sense of the place in a minute or two.

We are a creative studio that works only in education. Our school video production covers everything from a full promotional film for your website to short vertical videos for your social channels, all filmed by our own DBS-checked crew. You can see real examples above, made for schools, a multi academy trust, an alternative provision provider and a music tuition company.

Planned around your school day

A film should never get in the way of teaching. Before we arrive we agree a simple plan with you: which lessons, spaces and people we will film, and when. Most school films need one day of filming, sometimes two for a larger school or a trust, and we work quietly around the timetable so lessons carry on as normal.

We film the moments that make a school what it is: pupils arriving in the morning, practical lessons, music, sport, break times and the people who make it work. Where it helps, we add short interviews with pupils, staff or your headteacher, recorded somewhere calm so nobody feels on show.

One shoot, several films

Most schools need more than one film from a day of filming. A typical project gives you a main promotional film for your website and open evening, plus a set of short versions for social media, cut to the right shape for phones. Getting several films from one shoot is usually the best value, and it keeps everything looking like it belongs together.

The Coleshill School film above is a good example. It follows an ordinary school day and was made to be shared on social media in the run-up to the school’s open evening. Our Bournville School series shows the other side: five short vertical videos, from a day in the life of each phase to Sports Day, the Year 11 leavers’ assembly and prom.

Edited for the places people really watch

We edit with the viewer in mind. On social media, most people watch with the sound off and scroll quickly, so the first few seconds matter and words on screen help. On your website or at an open evening, people give a film more time, so it can breathe a little more. We deliver each film in the shapes and sizes you need, ready to post.

You see a first version and tell us what you would like changed. We then make the changes and send the finished films, along with short versions for social media if they were part of the plan.

Video for schools across the West Midlands and the UK

Much of our work is in and around Birmingham, including Bournville School, Smith’s Wood Academy in Solihull, The Coleshill School in North Warwickshire and Fairfax Multi-Academy Trust. We travel to schools across the UK for film projects too. Wherever you are, the process is the same: a short call, a clear, fixed quote, and a film made with care.

How it works

Five simple steps, from first call to finished work.

  1. Step 1: Get in touch

Email us or use the contact form. Tell us what you need and roughly when.

  2. Step 2: Get a quote

We talk it through, then send a clear, fixed quote before we start. No surprises later.

  3. Step 3: Confirm

You confirm the plan and the dates, and we agree consent and safeguarding arrangements with you.

  4. Step 4: We make it

We plan, shoot, design or build it, working around your timetable, and share drafts for your comments.

  5. Step 5: Delivered

You get the finished files, ready to use, with everything you need to post, print or publish.

Safeguarding and consent

Filming children safely is the first thing we plan, not the last.

Every member of our crew is DBS-checked. Before a shoot we ask for your photo and video consent list and agree with you how pupils without consent will be kept out of shot, so nobody is filmed who should not be.

We never film pupils in changing areas or anywhere private, we do not use full names on screen unless you ask us to, and we work alongside a member of your staff on the day. Footage is stored securely, and you approve every film before anything is published.

Why Moments

Why schools choose us

  • We only work in education

Schools, multi academy trusts, colleges and education providers are all we do, so you never have to explain admissions, Ofsted or the school year to us.

  • Safeguarding comes first

Every one of us is DBS-checked, and we check your consent list before anyone is filmed or photographed.

  • One studio for everything

Film, photography, print, social and websites from the same in-house team, so your prospectus, website and open evening film look like they belong together.

  • A clear, fixed quote

You know the cost before we start, and it does not change because a shoot runs long. We reply to every enquiry within one working day.

FAQs

Questions schools ask us

How much does a school promotional video cost?
It depends on what the film needs to do: how long it is, how many days of filming it takes and how many versions you need, for example a full film plus short cuts for social media. We do not publish prices because every school is different, but you always get a clear, fixed quote before we start, and it does not change if a shoot runs long.
How long should a school promotional video be?
For a website or open evening, two to three minutes is usually enough to show a school properly without losing people. For social media, shorter is better: 30 seconds to a minute for most posts. We often make one main film and cut shorter versions from the same footage, so you get both.
Can you film in a school?
Yes. Filming in school is not illegal, but it has to be done with the right consent and safeguards. We work from your consent list, agree how pupils without consent stay out of shot, and film with a member of your staff present. Our crew are all DBS-checked.
What music can we use in a school promotional video?
Commercial chart songs need a licence that rarely covers a school film on social media, so we use properly licensed library music that fits the mood of the film. If your pupils make their own music, such as a choir, band or orchestra, that can be even better.
How do you make a school promotional video?
We start with a short call about who the film is for and what you want families to feel. We then plan the day around your timetable, film lessons, break times and interviews, and edit a first version for your comments. Once you are happy, we deliver the finished film and any short versions.
